Cecilie Haaland is a full-time craftsman with a wide repertoire. She creates everything from utility objects to conceptual designs, with clean lines in a simple and modern design language. The design reflects the surroundings and the light in Lofoten.

Haaland works mainly in porcelain and photography. Preferably with the combination of these two. In recent years, Haaland has participated in a number of exhibitions, both at home in Norway and abroad. Her art has been purchased by, among others, Kunstindustrimuseet and the National Museum in Oslo and has received several grants, e.g. The government's 3-year work grant.

 

Haaland has lived in Lofoten since 1995, and is a trained craftsman and potter through apprenticeships for many years. She has run her own workshop since 1991, and is today co-owner and general managerof Engelskmannsbrygga   gallery and workshop in Henningsvær. In addition, Haaland has held several positions of trust on the board Norwegian Craftsmen Northern Norway (NKNN)   and is per today (since 2015) chairman of the board of Northern Norwegian Artists' Center (NNKS)

Engelsmannsbrygga is Cecilie Haaland's heart childa living arts and crafts center located on the square in Henningsvær in Lofoten. Haaland has been co-owner and active craftsman at Engelskmannsbrygga since 1997. 

Together with glassblowers Mette Paalgard, Heidi Kristensen and photographer John Stenersen, Haaland runs a workshop and joint gallery at Engelskmannsbrygga, in Henningsvær.
